In Love with a Bold Entryway

I'm completely consumed at the moment with design and decorating ideas for my home. No, seriously. I find myself looking endlessly around the house, discovering things to move, things to redecorate, to add to the space, to take out of the space. I have about 1 trillion bookmarks and pins of products and inspiration that I can't stop adding to. (If only my real life budget could accommodate all my digital desires...)

One area I've been trying to spruce up, little by little, is our entryway. In general, that's such a small space that it can be easily overlooked or ignored. But when done boldly and beautifully, it's a space that can have such an impact. I saw this lovely image over at Apartment Therapy, and I'm totally digging the idea of a chevron or striped wall to create a striking, albeit small, entryway. The rigid lines of the chevron are such a sharp contrast to the soft, curved lines of the gold mirror and side table, and I think the combination really works. Talk about making an opening statement!

I'm also completely smitten with this image as inspiration for my entryway. I love the midcentury look of the bookcase, the colors, the arrangement of books, and the fact that the piece is low enough to drop all your things on when you walk into the apartment. And to have one giant framed piece of art--or a photograph--to greet you when you open the door is another simple but bold idea that I think really makes an impact.

One other space I'm inspired by is this bright blue one. The blue wall is to die for. And paired with the bright pink desk? Oh my, I'm in love... I think the desk is simple and sleek enough to work--a bulkier pink desk would be too contrasting and way overwhelming. I also of course always love a good framed photo gallery that ties all the colors and elements together.

All in all I have a lot of inspiration sorting and design planning to do. Any other gorgeous entryway ideas or images out there I should know about? I'm itching to get started!
